Casa Prensa
Casa Prensa is located only one block from the central park and Calle La Calzada, Granada’s main tourist avenue. Casa Prensa (printing press in Spanish) once housed Granada’s first printing press, hence the name. It is a very historic home and is a great example of true colonial architecture.
Upon entering the house, you will find a large, comfortable living area full of beautiful antiques and artwork. The second "sala" or living area is much more formal yet comfortable. The home is beautifully decorated and is full of fun and interesting pieces.
The main corridor of the home encompasses the open air garden and has a dining table and chairs as well as garden side sitting area. The sitting area has a beautiful sofa and chairs which are hand crafted from banana leaves which gives the space a very tropical feel. The corridor also offers you two hand woven hammocks where you can relax and enjoy a quick nap.
The large master bedroom is just off the corridor and offers a private bathroom and king bed. The kitchen is at the opposite end of the corridor and is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. There is a second dining area just off the kitchen which is a great place to enjoy breakfast garden side.
Upstairs you will find the second bedroom with a queen bed and private bath as well as the third bedroom with a twin bed and private bath. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and screened windows so you can enjoy the cool lake breezes.
Casa Prensa is not only historical; it is a great home in a great location.
